In my macro era

Not going to lie… when I saw Fitness Influencers (don’t worry… I’ll never pretend to be one) post about macros, it was like another language. They’re showing apps to calculate things and it seemed like a ton of work and honestly… the only math I do is girl math and that didn’t seem to be it. However… I had a change of heart - as we do - and the more I learned, videos I watched, questions I asked, it seemed to make more sense. And now look at me go.. a macro counting machine (kind of).

I always set out to ‘have the body of my dreams’ and never in my 36 years of life have I achieved said body. Well guess what, 2025 I will. Why? Because I decided I would for real. So I’ve committed to counting macros, moving my body (in ways that work for me) and so far… it’s happening!!! I’m going to share my weekly meals for two reasons..

  1. I need the accountability honestly and if I’m sharing publicly, I’ll feel more obligated (guilted/shamed/whatever) into it.

  2. Maybe it’ll inspire you to try! Maybe we can do this together which would also make it way more fun!

Here are my meals for the week. I’ll link the recipes and the macro counts. Obviously these will work for me, but your numbers may be different. Can I give you a major cheat here? CHAT GPT!!!! Do yourself a favor and head over (I’ll link it too). Tell it your goals and ask it to create your macros for you to achieve them in whatever timeline you have. You can also ask it for recipes too which is how I started and as I got more comfortable I started googling and pinteresting.

Breakfast: Breakfast Bowls (total calories: 572)

protein:30g fats:36g carbs:15

Lunch: Shrimp & asparagus (total calories: 248)

protein:35g fats:6g carbs:6g

Dinner: Beef bulgogi and rice (total calories: 952)

protein:55g fats:55g carbs:57g

Protein Smoothie: Arbonne coffee flavor with water (total calories: 200)

protein:24g fats:7g carbs:9

So this week’s plan has me over on my overall daily calories, but it’s not terrible and I’m personally ok with that. Next week I’ll be more careful when figuring my meals out.

I’m also one of those freaks of nature that doesn’t mind eating the same meal for a few days at a time, so if that’s not for you, feel free to switch things up!

If you check out any of the recipes I’d love to hear how you liked them, or if you’re doing your own, still reach out so I can cheer you on!!
